Dental Care & Treatment

At the Herlington Dental Practice we provide affordable independent family dental care. We offer four types of service; independent, private, denplan and interest free loans.

Our prices, although independent of the NHS, are very reasonable. This independence allows us to offer a wider choice of dental services and materials.

We deliver all types of treatment from preventative to cosmetic, including orthodontic. Please see "Our Services" which gives a full list of prices and payment options.

Children, we believe, are our future practice builder. We are happy to see children on the NHS as long as the parent/guardian is a patient of the practice. Helping our young patients get into the routine of caring for their teeth and gums is very important to us. Our dental team undertake regular professional development to keep their knowledge and skills right up to date.

Patients of the practice who are normally exempt from NHS charges for their dental treatment will continue to be seen by us on the NHS.

Emergency Care

Patients of the practice who have a dental emergency when the surgery is closed should telephone 01733 234566. A recorded message will give details of the on-call dentist.

During opening hours please call the practice first thing in the morning to arrange an emergency appointment with your dentist.

Communication

Good communication with our patients is essential. We will take time to explain proposed treatment, any risks associated with it, as well as available alternatives. There will always be time to ask questions about the treatment or any other aspect at the practice that you are concerned about. The Practice Manager at Herlington is Ms Elizabeth Ward.

Cancellation of Appointment/ Failure to Attend

If you are not able to keep your appointment please give us 24 hours notice. Less than 24 hours notice will result in a charge being made to your account. This is because we will not be able to fill your appointment slot at such short notice. A 24 hour answering service is available on 01733 233100 to leave a message.

Failure to attend or cancel an appointment in time, will result in a charge being made to your account. The charge must be paid in full before another appointment will be made. All other pre-booked appointments will be cancelled.

Payment

We take all credit/debit cards, cheques with a cheque guarantee card and cash. Finance is available for any private treatment subject to status.

Doing Our Best

At Herlington Dental Practice we want to do the best for our patients. The British Dental Association's Good Practice Scheme helps practices to be aware of the nationally agreed standards of good practice.

By meeting the requirements of the scheme, our dental practice aims to provide the best care for its patients. As these nationally agreed standards of good practice change or are added, the good practice scheme will be amended to include these changes. This means that as dentists taking part in the scheme we will be encouraged to keep up-to-date and provide the best care for our patients.

Good communication between practice members and our patients is the heart of good practice and the Scheme encourages us as dentists to agree treatment plans with you, our patients.
